Best/Easiest/Cheapest car to mod?

so title says it all, plz leave your opinion on what is the best/easiest/cheapest (all in one) car to mod. i would like a street racer, but also be able to avoid "people" id rather not talk to if they see me racing. high 11's/low 12's is fast enough, but hey if its possible to get low 11's in it i wont complain . also if possible, plz leave what kind of mods should be added to that car, like is it better to turbo it, supercharge, or n/a? thanks to all who help out.

NO a supra is too expensive. I think an LT1 or LS1 camaro is on of the best cars to modify. they already come with around 300hp stock standard. All you need is headers, exhaust, cold air intake and some nitrous and you're running in the 12's. not much money at all there to get such results.

of course if you got the cash coming outta your ears then a skyline GTR , Twin turbo supra or a WRX STI can all fairly easily be modified to run 11's and 12's.

As for is it better to turbocharge, supercharge or leave it NA, well i'm sure a lot of guys here will say it depends on the engine. If it was a V8 like my camaro I'd tune it to the max NA but if it was a supra, wrx or skyline i'd upgrade the turbo's... pretty obvious stuff.

um.. the supra/skyline/sti are already in the 13s it isn't that hard to get any of those cars into the 11s.. but if u haven't notices a gtr cost $60,000 + $10,000 for emissions from motorex, also who uses gtrs to drag? use a gts.. which is rear wheel drive.. the gtr uses a computer controlled all wheel drive that makes it great for corners/circuits
the STI cost $30,000 for a new one.. and the engine is already made to take big boost.. i mean its a boxer engine
also supras dont cost alot u can get a decent one for the same price as a sti

Um.. yeah I know the supra, skyline and STI all cost a lot. thats why i put the camaro first and the other cars second coz the other cars are all very similar and all cost around the same so i don't know what you're on about in your reply but anyway.... Also, yes a GTS is better for drag but you'll need to tune the engine up to a GTR or get an RB26DETT installed anyway so it'll cost almost as much as getting a GTR in the first place so getting a GTR in the first place would be better than a GTS with a GTR engine.

Besides, with enough Nos and an engine to handle it, you can run 12's in ALMOST any performance car for not much cash at all provided the engine and tranny can withstand the beating.

like i said, im looking for a cheap car to mod, not some 30000$. cheap as in the car itself will cost no more then 5000$, but it doesnt have to be in mint condition.

well then the camaro is the car for you. you can get an awesome camaro for $5000 and it'll have blistering performance stock standard. You won't know how good it is though until you go and test drive one, so go and take one for a test drive and compare it to other cars in that price range, the camaro is the best in my opinion. Post up on the camaro forum for some info as to what kind of camaro you could get or build up for $5000. good luck mate.

hey zwrangler, what do you think of this. an early 70's to late 80's camaro. they are really cheap for really good condition. i can get one without an engine for like 1000$ (actually found one with perfect exterior/interior on ebay) and then i could drop a chevy 350 in there and then build that. should be able to push over 400hp n/a, then maybe get a twin turbo or a supercharger. should be pretty good and i could find most of the things ill need at junkyards so cheap too.

sorry it took so long to reply but the sites been down. WOW $1000 for a camaro body is amazing provided that all you need is the engine and transmission. You can get an awesome 350 chev and tranny on ebay too for around $2000 plus say another $2000 on any other things the car might need and you got yourself a nice ride for around $5000. If I was living in the U.S. I'd definitely be driving one of those sexy 70's camaros. BUT insurance is gonna be high. I'm not sure how much though coz i don't live in the U.S. but it won't be cheap if you can find it at all. Sorry mate.

Speaking of high insurance, a close friend of mine bought a 2003 model mercedes s350.... it cost him something crazy like $3714 U.S. to insure it
