Re: Stalls
intake manifold, on the opposite side of the intake on your manifold there is a flap the opens and closes, has something to do with backfiring I think, but that part is a seperate piece and there is a seal that can go bad, and what happens is there is a vacume leak which causes the car to stall, but you wont see this problem when driving at a decent speed. this part is expensive but I think if you go to the dealer you can get that seal, That happened to my car, I couldn't figure it out. so after I replaced the intake manifold i never had that problem again. cost me 700 labor + parts, but the part itself was 425 I think.

Stalling....................
I've tried all the above "fixes" with no success. Oldsmobile has given up and admits they have no clue. Took vehicle to "experts" who also are clueless. There is another thread that address this problem. Anyone who can resolve this would be quite the hero to me. I'd love some ideas.......

Re: Stalls
Are ther any other anomolies in performance or starting? How many miles? Does this happen at EVERY stop? Have you checked all possible vacuum leaks? Replaced fule filter and/or pump? Does the transmission shift ok?
Then there is the notorious fuel pressure regulator (although this would have to be an extreme failure) Give us more information if there is any... |

Re: Stalls
A sticky EGR valve made my 95 do this. There were usually a few surges as it tried to catch itself as the RPMs dropped. There was LOTS of carbon all over the intake manifold area making it somehwhat obvious what had caused my issues though.
