Unhappy 2001 F-150 SuperCrew Blinker Problem

My blinkers do not work when my adjustable steering wheel is in a lower position. They work fine when the steering wheel is in the highest position but it is not as comfortable to drive. In the middle positions they are erratic. Anybody have any ideas?

Broken wire(s) in the steering column, being an '01, hopefully there is some warranty left.

check for pulled out wires on the back of the multi-function switch. The plastic clips inside the connector usually brake.
