broken control arm mount

I was cruising down the freeway and hit something in the road. I thought my truck came out OK, but then noticed the drivers side upper control arm mount had snapped from the frame. Is there anyway to fix this? How much will it cost? Any info will be helpful.

Has the steel itself been ripped? Or broken?
I am sure you can have it repaired but I wouldnt have a "cheap fix".

Re: broken control arm mount

yes the steel has been broken from the frame, though the frame still looks structurally good. Just the steel loop the control arm bolts to broke. Has anybody heard of this happening before?

can hewlp you if you need a 2wd late 80s arm and shaft, you can have the mount rewelded to the frame, no biggie really, just find someone with a welder in their shop, and give them some beer for welding it real quick, ask around town, someone will know someone with a welder and spare time i would also underbody coat the weld and all the metal around it once its repaired

good luck
