adjustable sleeve coilovers=blown struts.

hey ive had 0-4" adjustable sleeve coilovers on my car for about 6 months. lowered 2.5" in front and 2" in the rear, and have a VERY bouncy ride. someone told me since the ride is so bouncy, the struts are taking all the impact, and will eventually blow out. im wondering, if i buy struts that allow the driver to adjust the damper (stiffness) such as the kyb ags or the tokico illuminas in combination with the sleeve coilovers, will the ride be less bouncy if i stiffened the strut up? also, would the stur STILL be taking all the impact? thanks.

Re: adjustable sleeve coilovers=blown struts.

the strut doesn't take "impact" it just keeps the springs in check. so if you were to get some stiffer struts it would calm your ride down. the springs take "impact"

Bilstein or Koni's will be your best choice. Tokico & KYB are stock length struts not designed for 1.5" or more drop or adjustable sleeves. If the springs are too stiff(lowered sleeves) then aftermarket struts aren't gonna change a thing besides lasting longer than stock.

then what would be my best choice (with around $300 to spend)? i want to be lowered with a stiffer ride with better response, not all bouncy and shitty like i am now with stock struts.

when the term "adjustable" is used for shocks and struts, it generally means to adjust the damper rate. that means the stiffness and feel of the ride, not the height. not sure.

Yes generally means adjustable dampening rates, there are also very few dampers with adjustable spring perches for height adjustments - Koni yellows being one of them.
