Help with automatic transmission selector

Please help me if some one is familiar with removing the automatic transmission selector cover. Yesterday I paid some person to detail the inside of my 00' Camry he pushed in the flexible plastic coverthe covers the auto. transmission lever. The car will go into all the automatic gears, but the red tab indicator will not go past the N {neutral} postion in the center console but the dash is reading the correction gear position of the lever. So I need to know who to pop out the cover to realign the indicator tab and the soft plastic cover that covers the lever. Please help me.

Re: Help with automatic transmission selector

Pry out the center instrument finish panel.(around the ash tray)
Pry out the center console upper panel.
Remove the screws from the front and rear of the armrest/console box and remove.
Remove the front console screws and lift the console up to remove.(watch elect.connections)
You should have access to the shifter. Good luck.
