dpfi upgrades? (without mpfi conversion)
i want to keep the dpfi intake on my 89 dx, but i want more fuel for a low boost turbo.
i dont want to run the risk of screwing up the mpfi swap, as i need this car on a daily basis. also the cost would probably be lower, which is always good . i'm good at fabricating stuff, and i just need to know if there is anything out there i can do. i know that you can just plug in larger injectors into the mpfi, so is there anything that will plug into the dpfi? what about just getting a pressure sensor that will activate a 3rd injector when on boost? that would save gas as opposed to the larger injector route. i guess i could either run one injector at static (wide open) when ever the car is on boost, and just plumb it in before the throttle body or right after or something (this would also be crazy easy to wire up). or i could run 2 smaller injectors and have one run at the same time as each of the larger ones (splice the wires and run them paralelle). Any ideas? |

Re: dpfi upgrades? (without mpfi conversion)
You actually have the best of the best for the DPFI. There is no other plug and play items you can do it with. Unless turbo or some other little gadget that I have no clue about. Personally, the MPFI swap is the only way you'll ever see the greatest improvement for the D15.

Re: dpfi upgrades? (without mpfi conversion)
what about running a 3rd injector 100% duty cycle (static) when ever the car went into boost?

Re: dpfi upgrades? (without mpfi conversion)

Re: dpfi upgrades? (without mpfi conversion)
i'm better at piping than wiring, simple as that. i just havent had good luck at it.
not to mention the added cost of buying the manifold, computer, blah blah blah.... i can make my own citcuits, such as one to run the injector, i just dont like making wiring harnessed etc. |
