Unhappy Engine "Hesitation"

Hey All,

I am having occasional hesitation with my 3.4. I have had my 02 alero for less than 1 year. I tried alternate brands of gas, checked the plugs, used several bottles of carb/fuel system cleaner but no luck. Has anyone had any experience with this problem before?

Re: Engine "Hesitation"

Can you elaborate on you type of 'hesitation'? On my 3.1L V6 in my Malibu, it would constantly spike about 100 rpm then drop evey second and it would make the car shake at idle. Is this what you are experiencing? I never found out what it was on my Malibu. It irritated the crap outta' me and that's one reason I sold it. It didn't even bother to have it checked out. Let us know what happens.

Jeremy

There is a TSB about clogged injectors on the 3.4L engines that causes them to run lean, which would definitely cause hesitation and power loss. My '02 Alero is the same way...very hesitant to accelerate and it pings real bad.
