Curious

I keep seeing on threads, people saying "careful wat you say about F&F" or "people don't agree with that film"
Why ????????
Would love to have it explained to me.
Cheers guys.

because for one people know that it created a whole region of ricers, 2 they believe its fake, but for the most part mostly ricers love the movie and so it makes real car people hate it.

Re: Curious

well there was a thread entitled fast and furious disease or something of that nature awhile back. But the main reason everyone dislikes it is the poor portrayal of modded cars. Everyone out there thinks they can take their honda add a 5inch muffler and K&N intake and have a car that keeps up with ferraris. In #2, there is no way that the sypder eclipse could have kept up with paul walkers evo, and as well, they shouldn't have had a chance going against the v8s. Granted if heavily modded, many cars have huge room to improve, but that takes tons of money and work. Now everyone with a bodykit and shiftknob thinks they can take any car out there. They don't really know too much about cars(not necessarily a bad thing, everyone starts somewhere and if it takes a movie to get them interested...then that's great). It's just when they don't try and learn, but just talk smack like they know everything.

Re: Curious

Movie was just too unrealistic. Sorry but if the Evo and the Spyder could take out the muscle cars, the Viper, the Saleen mustang, and the Vette... then why couldn't they outrun the police? You can't go 100 mph in reverse... using nitrous doesn't make you go warp speed... and jumping a bridge going 120 would total your car and probably your spine.

I used to have a car in Holland that drove forwards and backwards the same speed . they were vario matics (whatever that means), it was dutch car called DAF, they even had races backwards, that was always fun (on a closed circuit ofcourse) 100 miles per hour prlly no but 100km per hours forward and reverse yeah! DAF was taken over by volvo and they had the best trucks, they always did well in the Paris Dakar rally.

Re: Curious

On most cars there is a rev limiter on the reverse gear.

I personally think F&F is a great movie for the racing world. It got a whole lot more people into this hobby ~ whether ricey or not ~ and makes it a little more interesting. Most of these ricers eventually turn into educated racers anyways.

The original F&F was a little more realistic than the two hour long Mitsubishi commercial that is 2F2F. They might as well have had a complete Mitsu Lineup: Mirage, Diamante and Starion.

I think the definition of a ricer as someone who thinks their car is fast, but it isn't, is a little vague. What's fast? Not to offend anyone, but a 3000gt SL isn't the fastest thing out there.
