Re: vr4 or evo-8
Hmm good question, I remember we talked about this before and it is a bit faster...but I would still take the vr4 any day. v6TT over the 4cylinder turbo gives it a nice starting place even though stock vs. stock the vr4 is slower. I think the vr4 is just a nicer car overall, looks, styling, bells and whistles. Evo just looks too plain for me. And realistically...I know I can't last two seconds keeping a car stock, so those specs don't intimidate me too much.

Re: vr4 or evo-8
VR4 for me. Like the looks of it better and would take a v6 over a 4 cylinder. Even if the Evo is faster, I just wouldn't be generally as happy with it as a VR4. I'm just not too impressed with them...

the only thing that keeps me towards the vr4 is the looks. the evo-8 is faster handles better 4 door more comfortable seats imo. 4cylinder or not you would think its a v6tt if you drove one. its even faster off the line. and mod for mod the evo-8 wins also. man i tell ya, if the vr4 wasn't the prettiest thing i ever seen, i'd go with the evo-8

Re: Re: vr4 or evo-8
LOL of course the VR4. Even though the Evo is faster pssh "hardly" but what looks more intimidating a 4 door sedan or a two door sleek styling 3000GT.....of course the 3000GT

the evo is a nice car, but i'd still say the VR-4. First all, those stats dont mean anything, i have a buddy here with a stealth RT/TT who raced this dude with an EVO and just tore him up from a roll (and my buddy only had his car for 2 weeks and it was stock at the time). Also, a VR-4 will pretty much walk an EVO after 100 due to the gearing on the EVOs. Now, the EVOs are much easier to upgrade and you can get more power cheaper without changing much and be able to whip the VR-4, but the only thing that is holding the VR-4 back are fuel components and turbos. If you dont mind dumping 3 grand into a VR-4 for better turbos and a new fuel line up, those modded EVOs will have their hands full.

i guess we all see diff things cause i seen this evo-8 destroy this camaro ss which are known for running 13.5 it wasn't even a race really. i've also raced a sti which is the same speed as the evo-8 and we were basically even, i was about a foot ahead of him and we stayed like that for about a couple blocks, and that was while i was modded with no tranny probs at 12psi. so don't just go off one experience. plus its a fact that it handles better. imo i am impressed with the numbers and stats. i'm not biased at all, if its faster its faster. in the 1320 or on the twisties, but it simply doesn't look very nice, well at least not as nice as the vr4 inside and out. and mod for mod the evo-8 would win, so yeah if you dump 3 grand in the vr4 the evo-8 would have its hands full, but if youdump 3 grand in the evo-8 it drops just as much as the vr4 would.

Re: vr4 or evo-8
I was under the impression that the evo8 was quicker then the sti. I've raced multiple stis and never lost...granted its possible they were all bad drivers...but there were quite a few.

While the VR4 is a fast car, I got it based on the looks and features more then just the speed. The EVO is fast, no doubt about it, but its styling leaves a lot to be desired.

Overall, i'd take the vr4 over the evo any chance i'd get. I personally don't like the evo 8 look as it isn't as low as i'd like for a sports car. The vr4's looks are much better than the evo 8 and yeah, the evo is faster, but the vr4 is not slow by any means.
