engine problems with 1995 z-34 monte carlo

When I went to start it this morning it made a loud bang and would not start until a few minutes later it starts now but it does not run for very long and it takes a few minutes for the engine to get up to full speed it is not driveable

check your compression and timing if those are ok
bring it to autozone and let them hook it to there computer
