A few questions.

First,

What cars are good for street racing? I am talking legit circuit track racing. Also, do RWD out perform FWD, or vice versa? How does the Hyundai Tiburon do as a street racer? Is it FWD or RWD? How about a Mazda Miata? Just please reply with some of the best cars for street racing, the general price range, and any more information to help a newbie at street racing. I am converting to pure drag to half drag and half street.

Thanks,
Tory

Re: A few questions.

Legit like SSCA stuff mostly RWD is better Miata great lil track car imo tibbys i'll just not coment cause i've killed them at stoplight drags and many autoxing runs they dont hold up to other tuner cars imo. If you want good track drag car 240sx mustang 5.0 *yes with work they can handle*

Re: A few questions.

I see you live in Columbia City... We have a shop in Fort Wayne all the rx-7 guys hang out, look into them, I've got 2-3 that will be ready to sell soon. They are AWESOME track cars. And don't worry about reliablity, we know absolutly everything about them so if you had a problem, we could always help you out. Let me know, my AIM name is "WAAPST"

Miata's are actually pretty good for autoxing. They handle good areound the corners. I am not flaming or what not it is just my

Also an M3 would be a very good autoxing car. Drag somewhat good but not made for a straight line!

Re: A few questions.

Well you could pick up a nice 5.0 for about 3 grand depending on teh year, with a few mods these babys burn rubber. Although I have to say they need some suspension work to get te handling up on par with alot of other vehicles. The Miata is a great autox car, and I believe MazdaSpeed is coming otu with a lot of new upgrades including turbo and whatnot.

Re: A few questions.

If you're auto-x'ing then you would want either AWD or RWD. If you want to drift you have to have RWD and for drag it's a toss up between RWD and AWD. The 240SX is excellent all around especially if you drop in the SR20DET or an RB series engine. But any car can be made fast, some just need more work then others and excel in certain areas. Find a car you like, and see if it meets your needs, if so I'd recommend checking aftermarket availability.
