Exclamation May I Have Your Attention Please!!

i feel the need to post this thread under this catagory since it's one of the most visited catagory and i urge you to read on what i have to say. The country we've always known for its good electronic innovation and production, Taiwan has become politically unstable in the past few days. the reason for that is because of the recent presidential election has gone incredibly wrong. thanks to Mr. Chen, "our" ex-president, who had already screwed us from behind for the past 4 years, unshamfully made it all happened. i've just spent the last two days watching the news from CNN and news stations in taiwan. according to the sources, Chen is now being highly questioned for staging an assasination on himself to earn sympathy from the voters one day before the voting took place (March 20th 04). on top of that, he is now also being suspected for faking the ballot. there're now more than 20,000 people surrounding the presidential palace in Taipei demanding him to step down "and" re-examine the votes. the same kind of riot is also happening in every other major city in Taiwan where people surrounded the executive offices and demand an recount of the vote. even on the news station i just saw where a live survey took place in which more than 120,000 people (and counting) thinks the election was unfair while only 7,000 thinks other wise. what makes this matter even more embarrasing for me to say, on one of the news stations i was just watching, they showed a video footage of two "children" walking into the voting office and casting votes into the box RIGHT IN FRONT OF THE GOVERNOR'S WIFE and every other officer's in that building. "Children"!!!!?????

you might ask what does this all have to do with you. the answer is not only because that's where i am from and because that's where i will most likely end up going back to if so happen war really starts between Taiwan and China. because one of many things that Chen is doing right now is to stir up a war against China. and China might just really bomb us this time unlike the drill in 1996. many of us in this country often dont know what's happening out there and don't really have a reason to either. especially considering a small country that's as far as half a globe away. but those of you who understand how things work will know that everything eventually is interconnected and will more or less have some effect on you. you might see the electronic stock market going downward in the near future as the stock market in taiwan is about to take a nose dive on monday. the land of computer chips and electronics, the land of "everything is made in taiwan" has finally shown the world how vulnerable and corrupted it is. i do not wish for any actions from you guys, but just the need to share my feelings with you

here is one of the many news report from CNN you can read on about this matter

Re: May I Have Your Attention Please!!

A state legislator here in California has introduced a bill to allow 14 year olds to vote! Not to make light of your situation there, but I think it's ridiculous! I did hear about that possible fake assasination attempt on the news. If it is true, it's too bad that politicians will stoop to that level to get what they want.

Hopefully the situation won't escalate to a war. I think we have enough of those going on right now.

About all I can say is governments are corrupt the world over. Innocent people seem to be a commodity that governments are willing to trade to remain power. Hopefully this wont happen this time. Good luck.

China will not be going to war over Taiwan anytime in the next decade (at least). The simple reason is that it can't. It could blow it all to hell, but what good is that? It does not have the capability to put troops on the ground adequate numbers. The amphibious capabilities of China is horrendous. Men they have. Fighter planes they have. Logistical support and equipment for an invasion on an island they don't.

I hope China goverment falls. Communists are destroying the interior of the country to make a handfull of citys look world class. Perhaps the goverment that evolves will be one that Taiwan will be happy to rejoin.

14? Are you joking? A 14 year old can hardly make logical/legitimate decisions by themselves. They still have to have mom wipe their asses. And hell they can't even drive.
