On my 97 t-bird the cruise sontrol quit working.Recently I putin a new brake light switch.(a factory one) also put in a after market cd reciever with the wireing adapter kit.Would this have anything to do with the cruise control not working? everything else on the car works fine.Any help would be greatly appreciated.~Jeff~

I assume that the fuse for the brakes is ok because I have brake lights, speedo works fine, and so does the horn if this helps...~Jeff~

Re: cruise control quit working

Probably the metal connector brushes that go between the steering wheel and column Happened to mine so my horn quit working had to replace them.

Re: cruise control quit working

The horn works, right? Probably not the brass contacts. And this happened right after you installed which? Did you replace the BO/O switch because the cruise didn't work or for some other reason? Do you have power to the cc switches?

Re: cruise control quit working

You'll have to pull the switches out. Don't know which wire is supposed to be hot and I don't have a manuel for a '97 so I can't say it is the same design as my '93.

I had the same problem and it was a bad fuse. My clock went out with it, so check the fuse with your clock and such.
