Automatic seatbelts

My 95 Escort's automatic seatbelt doesn't work. Is there a way to get it to stay in the locked position?

Re: Automatic seatbelts

If I remember correctly on my '95, I removed the plastic cover at the bottom of the driver's side door post (left side of driver's seat), and used the little crank that came with the car and to position the seat belt at it's rear (locked) position. Procedure should be in your owner's manual. Pull the seat belt fuse and just slip the belt over your head after you get in. Latch the lap belt and you're set to go.

Just a couple things I found from previous posts:

1) the seat belt track. We just took the fuse out when they were in the ride position and we click up when we ride.

2)i have been reading about that and from what i read there is a lifetime warrenty on that so supposivly you can take it to any ford dealer ship and they will fix it..

Good luck,
Kid
