i think a good place for you to start your research would be by checking out our DSM site list. it is a "sticky" at the top of the eclipse forum. 4th one down i think. i copied the vendor listing in my post but their are tons of other great sites listed. for a filter i personally like K&N.

Re: Which Intake pipe and air filter

I seem to be promoting the 3'' MAF/MAFt setup lately, so here's what I will be doing. Note that MAFt allows you to vent your BOV, and just have a straight connection to the turbo/filter.

Buy a Blow-through UICP, (or make one) with 1g BOV flange.
Put your MAS (GM MAF) in the UICP for blow through mode.
Make a 3'' (or larger) PVC intake directly from the filter to the turbo.

If you need a cheap solution until you can afford ~400 bucks for the MAF, MAFt, UICP, and BOV... you can always get a MAS adapter for a 3'' filter, and a hard intake pipe with recirculation tubes. Working around the stock MAS.

Re: Which Intake pipe and air filter

Ok i have a few questions about what i will need if i do an upgrade with one of those dsm vendors.

First has anyone heard of or had anything done by Extreme Motorsports? http://www.extrememotorsports.com/

and is the whole idea of sending in my turbo to them to have them upgrade my stock to a 20g turbo. this is what it says....."This kit upgrades your 16G, big 16G or 17C/19C Frankenstein Junior to a 20G by replacing the compressor housing (with a TD06) and wheel assembly (with a 20G wheel). To complete the upgrade, return your 16G or better turbo (in good shape - rebuilding requires additional charges) and we'll upgrade your turbo and send it back. Clipping, balancing and porting are also available for additional charges. Please call for details. " is this a good idea and if i did it would i have to do anything else to accomodate the bigger turbo?
