car will not start

Will someone please help? I have changed every spark plug and every wire, and my car will turn over and try to start but acts like it not getting fuel. can anyone help please!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok if it turns over and dont get gas , then I want you to put the key in the ignition and turn it to on without starting the car , leave it in the on position for 15 minutes then start it.

Well , this happens to people lots with grand ams. I dont know exactly why you have to have to do it that way but it seems to be the way to do it. Some one else who can explain will when they read this thread you posted and they will expain it better.

sounds like you AREN'T getting gas, change the fuel filter first since its cheaper, if it doesn't fix it, then you might need a new fuel pump.

If that does work with the key after 10-15mins it could be your passlock module. Do you have a remote starter?

we talk abuot it in another GrandAM won't start thread

I have a 1992 and a 1994 Oldsmobile Achieva. basically the same as a GA, think firebird/camaro. They changed the name to Alero after the 1999 redesign

Does the security light come on when you try to start it? If so, you might have a security/ignition switch problem. There was a recall on the ignition switch. Something was wrong with it where the Passlock key system would fail. I had a friend who this happeded to. They wanted to charge her over $400 to repair it because of the remote start installed untill I grilled them on the recall.
