block rebuilt for 20 psi, H22A

I've got a 93 H22A motor that I mistreated, anyway I have to rebuild the bottom end and the head to handle up to 20psi, cause I won't settle for anything less. I already have ACT clutch, f-max kit which includes turbonetics T3/T4 turbo, spearco intercooler, blow off, wastegate, the whole kit. I know I'll need engine/fuel management, axles, and other things but for now I want to take care of the internals.

I'm ready to order, here's my list-

JE low compression pistons
crower rods
JE rings
darton sleeves
King bearings
copper head gasket

v-tec/turbo cams ?
valves/springs/retainers ?

I build houses, not engines so if you guys could help me out and let me know if I should modify or add anything to my list that would be great. I'm not scared to spend the money if I have to. I was considering Race Engineering. My goal is 400hp.

Thanks guys, I'll take any help I can get.

Ah, someone's been doing his homework I see. That's great, your setup is pretty much how I would lay out my internal setup except for a few minor things: If you do have the cash, you can try to look for the rare Saenz rods. These are quite durable and can take a load of damage. Crower or JUN rods would've been my alternative #2.

You can use the stock Honda bearings on a boosted engine. They were made for these engines and still work under pressure.

Upgrade your cams to JUN or Crower cams. The stock cams are no good with a turbo.

As for the head, find some stainless steel valves and get some more durable valvesprings and retainers. You need something that are stronger and can take the heat better.

I trust that spearco intercooler is an FMIC?

Good luck man, keep us updated.

Re: block rebuilt for 20 psi, H22A

I learned today that if I want to run 20psi I will have to get the darton MID kit which costs alot more than the replacement sleeves, The MID kit is also going to involve alot more hours at the machine shop. For a little more power I'm not looking to spend alot more money.

So if I'm restricted to 15-17psi, will I still need everything you said? Or is what I believe about getting the blocked sleeved untrue?

Thanks for the help.
