Angry One more problem to fix

Ever since buying my car last summer with 130k, I've had nothing but problems with it. I had to replace the radiator, the front right axle, exhaust, tires, and even the rear bumper after being hit. But of all this, there is one problem I've noticed with the car ever since I bought it. Lets say I come up to a stop light and I know it's going to turn green so I slow down really slow (so I can keep it in 2nd) and when It turns green, I hit the gas. The car jerks really fast from going slow to fast. It's not a smooth transaction from slow to fast, it's just a huge jolt. I really hate it when going through the wal-mart parking lot and slowing down for the people. I'm in first and I can't slowly hit the gas without the car jolting forward real fast. It also jolts when I let off the gas, not smooth like other cars. Are there any suggestions to this problem? Any would be greatly appreciated!

Re: One more problem to fix

How would you go about checking them? And why would the mounts be doing this?

Re: One more problem to fix

check those mounts out better.....have some one in the car while u look under the hood(from the side) have the ebrake up and put the car n gear and slowly let the clutch up to see how much ur engine is moving. FYI there are 4 mounts on a d-series engine bay.

When my mounts went, not just one, but 3 went. It sucked, it was so bad that when I hit the gas it sounded alright, but when I let off the gas, and let the engine slow the car down, the engine would rest on the axels, it was horrible! I looked at them when I got to work, and let the engine cool down, they were soooo worn, that I could literally grab the exhaust manifold and pick up the engine...lol. Not that I'm that strong or anything, but I could move it around in there, wiggle it and such...you know...catchin on? No? K, moving on, also, Shaguar47, havin those problems with your 4g isnt all that bad. Its at least 13 years old, stuff is bound to be wearing out by now. Its the price we pay for having an older car, but its the love that keeps us there...ya know?

Re: One more problem to fix

First and foremost, I do not cruise around walmart and second I didn't know there was 4 mounts. I'm still a newb to this stuff. But anyways, I checked the engine moving and it moves maybe 1-2 inches back and forth. Is that good? I've been thinking, could it possibly be the crappy base DPFI on the engine?

Re: One more problem to fix

sorry, my friend can't read a ruler right. It moved 1-2 cms. From what I can tell that's not moving alot. also all mounts are fully together. No cracks, no lose bolts, nothing.
