Smile New Member Introduction

Hello Everyone,

New Member here from Buffalo, NY. I have enjoyed this Forum and have learned alot from the posts here. Looking forward to learning more and contributing as well. Just bought a 2001 'Rora with 80k miles on it for $9k. Prior to that had 77 Delta 88 with 350V8, 79 98 with 403 V8, 79 Toronado with 305 (?), and a 92 98 Regency which I still have.

Already have a SES on the new one. The dealer is trying to tell me that fueling with the engine on will cause an o2 sensor to trip; that may be but the fact is we have not put fuel in it yet! Back to the dealer it goes....

Jeff

I forgot to mention the 82 98 REgencey Diesel...what an adventure in learning that was! Drove that one to 200k+ miles.

I hear you on the diesel. My first car was a 1979 Cadillac Seville diesel. I drove that to 279,000 miles. Funny thing is, that car had a converted gas engine that had horrible reputations for reliability- and I never touched the engine until it just wore out.

I think that had as much gadgetry to go wrong as my Aurora does, though it was a little bigger in scale. I never had trouble starting it though- it had 2 1100 CCA batteries to run all that crap AND heat up the glow plugs. That is still the most expensive alternator I've ever replaced
