Unhappy 1992 Camry brake fluid loss

I just topped the brake fluid a week ago when I noticed it was just below the "min" mark. Today, I checked it and it was back down to "min". I also noticed that after I start the car and push the brake pedal, it would travel all the way to the floor. However, when I use the brakes while driving, I don't have problems braking. I had the brake fluid loss problem for a while but in the past but it would take about two or three months for the level to drop from "max" to "min" Now, it takes a week. What is wrong? Should I worry about losing brakes while driving ? Any help would be appreciated.

Yes, you may loose your brakes. Get it fixed as soon as you can. You are leaking this fluid from somewhere and if you can't see it, then you can't fix it. If you are inclined, take off the wheels and drums on the back and see if there is brake fluid in the cylinders behind the dust shields or on the cylinders themselves. The front discs are harder to look at and inspect directly in the cylinders. Take off the calipers and the linings and see if there is any fluid on the pistons where you can see. All of these parts should be dry as a bone.

Make sure all the bleed fittings are snug on the wheel cylinders.

If you can't find anything, bring it to a shop you trust and have them look at it. At this point, it may be the master cylinder leaking. May be other things, but I am not well enough aquainted with brakes to give more help.

This is too important to dick around with it. Get it fixed.

Brian R. gave you some great advice. Follow it. You definitely have a leak somewhere in the system. If you don't have the skills to track down and fix the leak yourself, take it to someone you trust. This is definitely not something to fool around with. Yes, you can loose your breaks and that is not very funny. Take it to someone today!

Thanks, I took my car to a shop today and now it is fine. Turns out the front passenger side brake hose had a big puncture in it.
