I have the Venom installed in my truck. The Venom does help quite a bit if you ask me. It gets rid of alot of that lag when you punch it, to say make a quick pass on the highway, or something of the sort. Its a good improvement if you ask me. Its improved response times are definately noticeable. Its a good upgrade, works well with the Hypertech, which works more to increase the power in your shifting, and the RPM's in which your truck shifts. In this day and age the subtle performance chips work pretty damn well if you ask me.

Re: Venom 400 Performance Control Module

Yes. They work with different performance aspects. The Hypertech is more based on the shifting... RPM's, a harder shift, and a modification of some other things. The VCM is all about getting rid of that throttle response lag. You get a MUCH quicker reaction when you floor it with the VCM. With or without the Hypertech

Im thinking abput getting one of these but want to know if it will work with a Whipple Charger or not. Im in the process of saving up for one and want to make sure everything I buy before it works with it.

Re: Venom 400 Performance Control Module

Im sure it will work just the same, im not sure if it will have anything to do with the lag time in the supercharger. As far as I know it just has an effect on how quick your engine responds to your foot hitting the pedal. Just my two cents.

Re: Venom 400 Performance Control Module

Nice truck "Vettribution". Reading the mods, sounds like you have really laid down some $$$, lol, but the 14.20 1/4 seems worth it!

I'd like to be able to buy a programmer for my truck, but I don't think they make one (1992 Silverado, 350, auto). They do however make a JET Performance Chip Stage 1 and Stage 2. From what I've read the Stage 2 is for a modified engine (like yours) so I would need the Stage 1 (my only mod is Flowmaster exhaust). You seem to be well informed about these "chips" so have you heard anything good about the JET Perfermance Stage 1 Chip? They claim something like 17-22 rear-wheel horsepower for TBI 350s, and if that is true, then it would be well worth the $150 it cost.

Re: Venom 400 Performance Control Module

Ook, question. IS this Venom thing, the same thing that you can get from Nelson TUning, or Westers? If it is, how does it compare to them besides the westers and nelson being custom tuned to your vehicle?
