GT300 Kraft AE86 in progress(parts & tools review)

Ok,I am a "Newbie" to Car Modeling , I did some junky Ferreri F40 ,F355/Star war X-wing modeling before /1998...(It's turn out suck) ..

So I wish to start again By getting a Fujimi "initail D series" Apex GT Tureno and modify the front end and rear to match the looks like this :

I post this message just because I got no talent about modification from modeling scrap , So i may need the help from all of you expert people out there . here are some question :

1.Can I use RC tyre or rim on the model kits ?
2.Can I use non alchol paint?
3.Use tamiya "Joint paste" or others ? any susgestion
4.what is the best meterial for making wide-body kits ?

Thank you

I found four Rim & flat rubber tyre left , thats actually come from the mini 4wd .
one thing i not sure is the size and scale match or not , The fujimi scale model is 24:1 . since nobody do the 80's toyota Tureno models ....fujimi is my only hope.

The tyre rim need to be file...

2.Also got some FPR Firber bumper ...

Welcome. For most of your questions please check the F.A.Q. list, most have been asked before by beginners!

As for RC tyres, unlikelly they will probably be out of scale. Check the wheel and tyre suppliers listd in the FAQ. Use epoxy putty for bodyy work, and best of luck, looks like an interesting subject!

Sounds like it's going to be a great project. Just remember to take your time, and if things don't seem to go right, take a break before you break something. Good luck, and I look foward to seeing some progress on this car.

Here's all the pictures I could find for reference. Couldn't find a single picture of the interior though.

Tamiya doesn't make an MR2 kit But they have a Toyota GT-FOUR (ST-205) that has a 3SGTE engine! Could try that. I've only ever seen pics of the top of the engine under the hood, if you get it, could you post pics of the assembled engine outside the car?
