Question cutting off

ok, i've put this question to several people i know and i get different answers, so here goes: i have a 94 cavy and for the last few weeks whenever i have to make a hard stop it acts like it wants to cut off, idle speed drops and comes this close to cutting off. well, yesterday, it finally cut off on me when i tried to stop too hard but it cranked right back up again just fine. please help. i've gotten that it may be the starter(which i believe as much as the sky is green) or maybe the fuel pump. also what would cause hesitation in the tranny shifting gears in an automatic?

Re: cutting off

Doubt if it is either of these as the starter only comes into play when you start it,the first symptoms noticed with the fuel pump or filter is a hesitation at full throttle.
It seems to be a tune-up, sensor related or vacuum problem.
When was the last t/u?
Has the check engine light come on?
Check all of the vacuum lines to make sure there connected.
Let us know what happens.

cutting off

well, the check engine light comes on a lot off and on b/c i had the original engine replaced with one out of another model, so electrical codes tend to not match up alot. there's so much going on with it right now, i may just have to break down and take it to the mechanic

Re: cutting off

It almost sounds like the TCC isn't disengaging. if it doesn't it will cause a stalling when you stop. you might have sticking valves in the tranny
