1984 B2000

We have a 1984 Mazda B2000 that has major problems with the motor. We can get a 2.3 engine from a Ford Ranger. Does anyone know if they will they swap fairly easily?, or will the transmission line up? Any major problems we can expect to encounter? If this won't work what type of engine will
Thanks
D
