help with radio

How do you get the radio out of a 91 escort? Thanks

Not sure about a 91, but I know my 94 requires a special tool. Look at the elft and right sides of your radio... if you see two small holes, one above the other, on each side, then you know you need the special tool. Some brilliant person may speak up and tell you a way to rig something up though.

There should be a hole in each of the 4 corners of the radio, you can buy the tool at any auto part store or stero store or you can use 2 paper clips thats what I did. But all four holes have to be pressed in at the same time.

i have worked on a lot of fords... the easiest way to get the stereo out is definitely to buy the right tool, it might set you back a couple of dollars (tops) but it will save you from a lot of headaches. trust me, ive done both and the store bought tools make it easy!

I jus used nails, or those stakes you use for your christmas lights? Anything that fits in the hople pretty much works, if u got 4 of 'em...
