Removing Emblems
I want to remove the emblems from my hood and trunk and also the dealer's decal on the back of my car. They are all the stick on type. As you can imagine, I dont want to harm the paint, so how could i go about this?

Re: Removing Emblems
You could either use a heat gun (just don't leave it on too long) to loosen the adhesive then clean with goo-gone or you can try a steamer. It seams like there are a few different adhesives they use so you may have to try a couple different methods. Just remenber once removed that there may be a slight color difference (lighter or darker) but a good polish should even it out with the surrounding area.
Hope this helps Eric |

Car emblems are always just glued on. They have little prongs/pegs that hold them in place. Sometimes you can get access to the prongs/pegs through the inside, like the inside of a trunk. Just cut off the prongs then push the pegs out with a screw driver.
03 Mustang GT's have pegs that hold it inplace with the adhesive. Those emblems are easy to remove, just pull real hard. Or pry it with a flat head screwdriver. What about the hole though? Do you plan on filling it and paint?

yes the pegs. well i left the two emblems on but managed to remove the dealer sticker, and the make/model badges. so for now the ones with the pegs are staying unless i can get the areas repainted a close enough match to my car, if so i would also get my antenna shaved and pinstripes taken off.

Re: Removing Emblems
If you dont want anything to harm your paint,or just too lazy.Spray on some WD-40.That will make it so you just peel or pull it off and there will be no residue. All you need is patience, just spray it all over and leave it for a few hours or all night. You'll enjoy the benefits.
