Well it depends on what you are wanting to do with the car. Are you wanting a car that looks more professional than another? I would go with the Prelude VTEC if taht is the case. Both cars are great cars and sporty, the prelude is nicer on the inside 97+ anyway than the tegs IMHO. But for a small, light, nimble sporty car the teg is my choice.

If it was me, I'd look for a 95(still obd-1) Prelude Vtec. The 97-00 were all equipped with Vtec, the only differences were the type sh which was manual only. Integras are nice though.

its actually personal preference when it comes to those two. both are equally "fast", if thats what you're after.

just go with your gut feeling. you can't go wrong with either. they're both excellent cars .

Re: 1997 Prelude V-tech or 1997 Integra GSR

Get the prelude if you want to add a quart of oil every 1000 miles. A tech i work with used to work for honda, and he did an oil consumption test on the 97+ ludes. lost a quart in 1000 miles, so he called tech line (the people you call when your stuck and need an answer) they said that was normal for the preludes. They used a different type of material in the cylinder walls to make the engine last longer, only downfall is that oil slips past the rings.
