97 gp gt

Hi i was wondering if anyone knew about or had the three warning lights come on in their grand prix. It is the ABS light, trac off light and the check tire pressure light. I got my wheel bearings changed and brakes and a new control arm. Then i started to have these lights come on all at once. The manual said there might be sometihng wrong with the check tire pressure sysytem. But my mechanic said that some of the sensors might be going bad in the wheels that control the trac system. These lights all go off when i re start the car buy when i start going they all come on at once. Maybe someone knew someithng about this thanx

Check each wheel hub and make sure the sensors are plugged in. Sounds like when they did the wheel bearings, breaks, and control arm they might have broke a wire or forgot to plug in the sensor.

I agree, if the problem happend just after they made the job is very usual that they forgot to plug the ABS cable or any other related sensor cable. If they are connected use a digital multimeter to check for continuity on the cables at the hubs. Looks like a loose/open connection to me.

1997 Pontiac Grand Prix

I am having the same problem--mine has just a little over 44,000 miles; I took it to my normal mechanic, and he couldn't find anything wrong--they checked the brakes, and he checked the tire pressure, recalibrated the check tire pressure reset, and alas all three are still on. Were you ever able to get it resolved? If so, how?

I really appreciate any help you can give me. Otherwise, I'm going to have to resort to going to the dealer (and, of course, it is a year out of warranty), and I really hate going there unless it's warranty work.

Thanks a million from Alaska,
Y
