gauge pod
I just bought me a gauge pod. I don't know what gauges to put in it. I bought it because that's what I see in other cars. So which meter should I get and which on will be easier to install and do you know any link to help me install it.

Re: gauge pod
do you have anything done to your car? you shouldn't get something just because you see it on other cars. i think if you don't have anything performance wise on your car it would be useless and waste of money to put gauges in it. but i guess you could put a temp guage because i hear the stock one is pretty inaccurate. maybe a oil pressure gauge.

Re: gauge pod
I sure hope that pod was hella cheap. Cuz I wouldn't buy a pod if i didn't know what i was going to put in it before hand. How many spots are there?

I have a triple pillar pod and I have the autometer carbon fiber gauge series. In the pod I have An Air/Fuel ratio gauge, Oil Pressure and Nitrous pressure gauge but that all pretty much has to do with the nirous system. Get gauges that will benifit you not just look cool. Cause if you have a Air/Fuel and all you know is weather you are running lean/stoich/or rich and dont know how that can effect your engine with certain mods then you got nadda.

Re: gauge pod
Well I want to make my car look cool with gauges. So when someone pull up beside me they might think twice before they test me.

I have a single pod with a voltmeter (to monitor my battery and my amps with) and then a "3 3/8 size tach next to it on my pillar, and unless someone is in my car, almost no one ever notices them, not even the tach. I would suggest a more benificial mod than a couple guages, unless you absolutely need them. But to each their own of course. I'd put a voltmeter, and maybe like oil temp or oil pressure gauge in your two-pod.

Re: gauge pod
Autometer even makes a digital clock for your pillar pod. But if your just trying to make your car look intimidating that might not work, cause there will come a time when people will test you and because you spent 250-300 bux on gauges and pillars they are going to beat you because they invested that into their engine for lets say a nitrous kit.

Re: gauge pod
LOL, not trying to be mean or rag on ya but, on the street, no matter how many guages you have, majority of the time you're gonna be "tested" anywho(from people like me). My Civic isnt as quick as my Rx-7 or my Celica but i get just as much enjoyment out of watching something like a ferrari rocket away from my civic as i do when i rocket away from a ferrari in my Rx-7. The street is just like war, all weapons are taken into consideration and tested on the field. Pardon my rambling lol...

Re: gauge pod
I've read in a few places that the A/F gauge is really inaccurate, I don't know if it's just Honda's or what. Supposedly you'll be able to get a better idea of your a/f ratio with an EGT gauge. The hotter temps the leaner the mixture is I believe. I would go with a voltmeter, I think pretty much everyone should have one, they are pretty useful. And an oil pressure gauge would also be nice.

Re: gauge pod
If you have something like a Greddy wideband O2 sensor ($230+) and an air/fuel gauge with actual numbers on it, you'll get accurate readings.
