Arizona Emmisions

I purchased a 1984 C10 Pickup in Kalifornia that was original sold in Denver Colorado and I live in Arizona. I want to take all the extra emission accessories off that are not needed. According to the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality's (ADEQ) web site, a Arizona Vehicle Emissions test checks the following components: catalytic converter, operational air pump, positive crankcase ventilation system and evaporative control system. I know what those four items are but I am not sure how they all work together because when I look at the engine it has vacuum hoses going in every direction with some "T'd" off and feeding other components. I'm not sure what to keep and what to remove to maintain a legal vehicle for this state. The local SMOG Inspection Station is run by high school dropouts, (my opinion), and they were not very helpful. They said that if it came that way from Kalifornia I had to leave it. Note: this truck is on it's third engine too, not sure if that makes a difference. But I also inquired about changing the engine to a 350 (it has a 305 now) and they also told me that I could not do that because the truck did not originally come with a 350. I checked with the techs at ADEQ’s main office and they told me that I could upgrade to the 350, so before I swap engines I want to know what are the bare minimum components I need to ensure my vehicle is emissions legal for the lower 48 minus Kaliforna?

Thank you for taking the time to read this lengthy post.
