the H22 will fit but will need alot of modification in order to do so.
id say go with a b18 and turbo it.

i agree with the turbo. but if you want an n/a, go with either the b18c or b16

Re: crx engine swap..what will fit?
best bet is B swap i would say GSR motor b18c1 great platform for both N/A and with some work can be a monster turbo motor.
H motors are doable but i say no to them cause of weight. |

An H22 into a crx can be done, but you have to reinforce the frame b/c of the weight of the motor, you also have to work on your suspension. The H22 would also screw up your handling and would only be a good swap if you plan on doing nothing but 1/4 miles. I would go with a b18c or b16b if you have the money

Re: crx engine swap..what will fit?
Dude go for the b16 and keep in n/a until your hitting 13's in the quarter by doing allllllll new internals and then get a forced induction and that thing would be screamin.

Re: crx engine swap..what will fit?
I agree with Lucci. The B16 belongs there for all-around performance reasons. Sure, the H-motor does have more all-motor horsepower potential, but it's weight, pardon the pun, holds it down. This is the same concep small-block and big-block chevy boys argue about. The B-motors on the tracks can run dead even with the H motors in the 2g CRX, but then when you drive the car home and have to slow down to 20 b4 you go into a 90 degree corner, then you will wish you had the B. I would take the B16, bore it to 1.8 liters, turn the motor 10,500 RPM's with matched cams, head porting, and big, open externals air-flow components.

Re: crx engine swap..what will fit?
bah convert your CRX to a rear wheel drive H23, and turbo that bitch.. lol.... seriously, that would be a kick ass car... weight would'nt be much of an issue then..
but in reality, where you want an FF layout, go for a lightweight motor B16, or B18... do all necessary internals... put a good fast spooling hybrid turbo on there, and you'll have a killer setup... I am wondering if anyone has done a K series swap into a CRX, or Del Sol.....

Re: crx engine swap..what will fit?
I know of someone working on a K-series swap for their Del Sol.

Re: crx engine swap..what will fit?
I put a ZC in mine and I love it. It goes like stink, is dependable, and gets great gas mileage.

Re: crx engine swap..what will fit?
Ls....more reliable than a zc, you can beat up on the b16 guys and laugh at them because they paid more and its a great platform for all motor and turbo

If you don't abuse it and keep up on the maintenance (which is pretty much minimal), a ZC will last as long as any Honda engine. To imply that any Honda engine is not reliable is simply not true. They make the best engines in the world,
Also, if I want to spank someone, I'll use my 911 as the CRX is my back and forth to work car. |

Re: crx engine swap..what will fit?
get a zc from japan, headers and exhaust and cold air intake.Get a prot and polish and a three angel valve job. If you can find some get some better camshafts, cam gears, pulleys.
