Re: How fast are x-mods?

They should be about the same,. ive never seen a xmod run, so i couldnt tell you how it compared to my miniz. the old miniz's are pretty wuick, im sure they are going to be pretty close to teh same speed stock. the miniz may have an advantage stock, but with the upgrades available, ic ant tell you. look into some of the other threads and pm the owners about theirs.

They are slower out of the box and the Radio Shack supplied upgrade motors aren't much faster, but if you're anything like me, learn to rewind motor's and upgrade the electronics.

My skyline can hit about 33mph, but it runs on 2 AA sized Lithium Ion batteries and has beefed up electrics and a CF chassis. There are a few xmods out there that have been known to hit 40+ mph...

Basically you're only limited by your abilities and and/or budget. The aftermarket for xmods is small but it's getting bigger everyday.

Re: How fast are x-mods?

i have a z, my friend has an xmod, and he brags that his is cheaper, my z was 100, and his car was 50, but i got a 20$ motor and a turbo for 15$, and he spent 50$ on just one motor, and another 20$ on suspension, and another 40$ on unesesary things like body kits, and rims, and i can kill him with my z, radioshack makes the original cars cheaper, but mods are really expensive, and i have heard that the awd mod is very hard to find, kudos on the suspension tho, i dunno wut kyosho was thinking when they made the t plate, i break so many of those....

Oh definately. I see people spending $150+ USD on these X-Mods and they are still slow, by then you could by a Tamiya TL-O1, or a HPI Micro RS4, which are much better than X-Mods.

Not to mention, they look like shit. My friends and I found one in AutoTech, so we first ran into it with my friends TC3 in a race. Then got the planishing hammer and smashed it, then got out the oxy acetelyne torch and performed a puddle conversion.

People just need to go out and buy a frickin' Micro RS4 or something instead. They are able to be much more modifed, stronger, faster, and not a Radio Shack POS.

Re: How fast are x-mods?

ya just get a min-z or micro rs4, the xmods can be fast i guess, but by the time your able to beat a min-z, you'll have already spent twice as much on the xmod than on the z, for about the same speed

Seriously, this is starting to sound like the whole import vs. domestic debate. Just let people be man, no use trying to slam us for being into it. You seem to be losing more sleep over it than we are, lol.

Sure Radio shack put a half-assed effort into the development of the xmod, but they did figure out how the cram all wheel drive into such a small package, plus xmods aren't limited to 130 sized motors. I've seen one running a $3 260 sized mabuchi that can hit 45mph+ speeds. As I see it, xmods aren't so much lmited by money, but by know-how.

Im just saying basically I see kids that dont know WTF they are doing buying them. Little rice-boys that buy them and expect to compete against people with brushless set ups.

Some kid at school yesterday said he could take me easily in his XMod vs. my Modified traxxas Street Sport with a 350 18turn motor. I easily smoked his ass then he just makes up some BS about how his batteries were dead.

I just tired of seeing these children expecting to compete against us real racers...

Not trying to start a flame war.

Re: How fast are x-mods?

What i posted in a other thread.

To make your x-mod go quicker you must
1.) Have an x-mod
2.) You need a cannon
3.) You need to pust some black powder in the cannon
4.) Insert the x-mod
5.) Light the cannon and run
6.) Pick up what ever is left of the said x-mod
