How low does everyone have their car lowered and what seems to work the best, my springs are getting old and suck so i gotta buy some new ones and i don't rmember what mine were. but i heard 1 1/2" is too low with a body kit and you will fuck it up for sure.

Re: Amount you should lower your car
All depends where you live, driving condition, etc.
My car is lowered 1" from the front and on a stock bumper. And i still have problem. The underside of it is all scraped up very badly, it is yellow.

Re: Amount you should lower your car
I have never nor will I never be able to lower my car.....I live in PA.
Here the potholes are large enough to swallow a geo metro. So no drop for me By the way...does anyone else live in the central PA area??

Re: Amount you should lower your car
If you are running stock 15 or 16 inch wheels you are going to have trouble any time you lower the vehicle. A typical body kit will lower the stance of the car anywhere from 1/2 to 1 inch. not more... as long as it is installed correctly. I personally think that 18's are the best application for the eclipse. They fill the wells up nicely and there aren't any major performance losses like you get with 19's. 17's are just too small with thesmaller sidewalls. but it all depends on your own personal preference. as far as lowering the car, it also has a lot to do with how stiff the springs are. the more flex you get, the worse the potholes are going to be on the vehicle. a 1 and 3/4 inch drop is ideal for style and driveability. I also live in central pa and can vouch for the rediculousness of the potholes and the roads in general. but from my experiences, with the careful driving and paying attention to the road, a 1 3/4 inch drop on a set of 18's with a good kit will not do you too much harm. as long as you pay attention and are careful entering and leaving dairy queen! oh and avoid the rediculously large speed bumps we seem to have everywhere in PA... I never could understand them. Guess it's cause everyone has a damn truck.
