Hi all I have done a search on the forum but could only find posting talking about lose mirrors not ones that have stopped working.
Ok the driver side mirror has stopped responding to the control and no longer moves , how do I get to the wiring to check that a wire has not come out, and how do I get the mirror off to see if the motor is working?Any Help would be good

Re: Electric Mirror not working
go from the inside out.. remove your inner door panel first.. it's probably that the harness came loose. If that's not it, then just follow the wires through the door to the mirror. If it's not the wires, you probably have a bad motor in there.

Re: Electric Mirror not working
there's a couple of screws around it... one up by the hinge, right under the triangle window.. that one's a bitch to get to. Then there's another one behind your door handle.. look at the grip handle on your door and right behind it you'll see a little dot.. use a screwdriver to get behind the dot and then remove the screw. The one by the triangle window is damn near impossible to get to with a screwdriver cause they're too long, so here's what I did..
(phillips head bit) --> ratchet bit that fit it (a small one) --> ratchet. That way the length is short but you still have the leverage you need. After that, get a flathead screwdriver and slide it under the panel on the bottom and begin popping it off. The more you do it, the easier it gets. I about killed myself yanking on it the first time I took the panels off. But now that they've been on and off a few times, it's better. |
