ANOTHER stuck sliding door
Yup - drivers side sliding door is stuck shut. I see many threads on this but no one mentions the little plug on the inside bottom of the door. Pull it off and a nut on an arm appears . This is an adjustment for what? Is this a possible fix? I haven't messed with the door yet. Help Ryan

re: ANOTHER stuck sliding door
I have a stuck sliding door also. Did you ever find out what the fix is?

Yes it's fixed. Inside the door there is a 1/2 inch metal prong that the pushrod of the electronic door lock actuator hooks over. It had snapped off rendering the actuator useless. I removed the door mechanism assembly and welded a small bolt in the prongs place. Works like a champ. True to Chryslers form - a poor design designed to suck you back to a dealer to fork over more bucks to Chrysler. I avoided that and you can too. Money spent - $0. Time spent - 4 hours. Sure beats the $300 estimate from the dealer. Life is grand!

On a related note, i had trouble with one of my sliding doors. My sister has the habit of holding the handles open and slamming the door closed with all of her might (and trust me, she's one strong woman). I found that there are small rods attached to the inside button, outside handle and door lock, and these rods are threaded at the end. If you have the door panel off, just make sure the threaded ends are secure in their clips. They tend to come loose with force and can jam up the mechanism. A local dealership quoted me $500 to fix this problem, and I took care of it in 10 minutes, no parts needed.

I know this is a old post, But now my 96 Caravan is doing this.... it wont open, the push lock does move up and down manually, door does not open for either the our nor the in, and the automatic switch from drivers door wont budge it one inch, is this what was going on with yours, for me to look at this metal prong or do you think its the gas sensor lock for that door??
