2000 and 2001 GA**recall**

Located in Canada

I received this in the mail today what a suprise....

Deal General Motors Customer:

General Motors has decided that a defect, which relates to motor vehicle safety, exist in certain 2000 and 2001 model year Pontiac Grand Am vehicles. Some of these vehicles have a condition in which solder joints in the hazard warning flasher switch may crack. If craking occurs, it may cause the audible flasher indicator, visual flasher indicator in the instrument cluster, turn signals, and the hazard warning flashers to work intermittently or not at all. If the turn signals or hazard warning flashers are not working, other may react more slowly to a turning or stopped vehicle and a crash could occur.

Your Gm dealer will replace the hazard warning flasher switch. This service will be performed for you at no charge.

You may be contacted by a dealer other than the dealer who sold or is currently servicing your vehicle. Please be advised that you may take you vehicle tho the General Motors dealership of your choice to have the recall service work completed. Please contact your dealer as soon as possible to arrange a service date.

If parts are required, ask your dealer for details regarding their avalability. If parts are not in stock, they can be ordered before scheduling your service date.

This letter identifies your vehicle. Presentation of the letter to your dealer will assist their service personnel in completing the necessary correction to you vehicle in the shortest possible time.

We are sorry to cause you this inconvenience, however, we have taken this action in the intrest of you safety and continued satisfaction with our products.....

YEAH YOU BETTER BE SORRY!!!!!!!!!

Re: 2000 and 2001 GA**recall**

This absolutely makes my day, and is partially why I decided to join this forum. My entire dashboard just intermittently clicks and clicks...sometimes fast, sometimes slowly...it has been driving me nuts! My husband, (also a GM customer), said you can go to the GM website and email them, and they'll send you a letter to take to get the problem repaired. I am so happy there is a reason my car has been giving me Chinese water torture for all these months now!
