Did anyone else get a letter from nissan???

i recieved a letter saying that my car is in high demand across nissan dealerships and the letter also says that if i visit the showroom withing the next 2 weeks and show them this letter that they will give me $1,000 over nada loan value and buy my car back.

did anyone else get this letter and what is the dif between blue book and NADA loan value.

If they offer me in the area of $16,000 for it and happen to have a pretty lil 350z on the lot maybe me and a sales guy could work somethin out.

Re: Did anyone else get a letter from nissan???

the letter reads:

Brian,(that's me)
We are selling more used cars than ever before. This has left us with a dire need to place several used quality vehicle such as yours back into our inventory for immediate resale. Your 2002 Maxima has been identifed as meeting our stringent Buy Back criteria. Therefore, as a valued customer, we would like to offer you this incredible opportunity! Come into our showroom within the next two weeks with this letter and we will buy back your vehicle for $1000 over NADA Loan Value AND upgrade you to something new and with lower maintenance that fits your budget.

i can only hope this is going to work out to my advantage It's not like i'm unhappy with my car so if they try and lowball me i'll just walk(obviously). i'm on spring break so i'll run down there one day and hear the guy out. i'll keep you posted.

Sounds like a scam to me! I've never heard of a dealership wanting to buy back a used car. Their all about getting rid of their used inventory, not buying it back. Very strange indeed!
As for the 350z, good luck! Just make sure and check on the insurance first! The insurance will kill you on these cars! Unless you've got a perfect driving record and you're about 65 years old! haha!

Me, too. I ain't ever heard of nothing like that. The real letter, not actually mailed probably reads:

Brian (that's you)
We're losing more money than ever before. If don't rotate stock and at least appear like we're moving inventory, the taxman is going to stick it to us at the end of quarter. As a repeat customer that falls into the correct age group, we are offering you bait. We're offering NADA value, that is actually less than blue book, for your car so that you can buy another new one - from us.

How can we do this CRAZY deal? As a reseller of fine automobiles, we realize we can sell a 2 year old maxima all day long. They depreciate so quickly and it's worth $10k less than it was new. But not to worry, we'll make it up on the financing. But even if it is a wash, we have you Brian in a new car and we're one step closer to our goal of a lower tax bracket.

Thanks again

Re: Did anyone else get a letter from nissan???

insurance stinks ! what about the new thing where if you have bad credit they can increase your rates because they think that if you owe money you are under more stress and more likely to wreck ? lol

thats cool i may never own a 350z , but doesnt mean i cant get some 82 280zx and mod the daylights out of it

Re: Did anyone else get a letter from nissan???

insurance rates for some cars are unfair.... depending if the car has two doors or four, sporty or sedan...

my next ride will be a nissan w/ MANUAL trans

yea that is too good to be true.............

Man, that's off the hook, if they do, you should either go cop that Z or G35 Coupe.

Well the NADA loan value of my 1997 I30 ranges between $5475-7475. The Kelley blue book retails price is $8065. The kicker is the retail trade-in value is under $4k. I got royally screwed in this mix when my last Max was totalled and the insurance paid less than the replacement cost of a comparable car, i.e. NADA loan value. When the actually loan for the car was paid off, the net was about $1600.

Get 'em to commit to a figure and them crunch some numbers.
