equalizer

Anyone know anything about getting an equalizer to work? After i plug my sub wires into the back of the equilizer, it doesnt work, but when i plug the wires into the back of the cd player, then it does work.

the equalizer has power, it just wont run the sub, only the cd player will. both the equalizer and cd player is kenwood

Is it an amplified EQ?

In other words does the OUTPUT of the EQ have enough power to drive the subs? If not you may need an external amplifer hooked up thusly CD>EQ>AMP>SUBS
