Question sound system, keep or replace?

i currently have a stock sound system, the type of sound system is unknown to me but i heared it was an infinity sound system which is a good thing. the sound system sounds nice but i would like to install louder better sounding speakers and maybe two bass tubes in the back if not a box. but which is better, a stock sound system or a sony 220 watt system? and i would like to keep the cd changer, but if i install another sound system, would i have to get rid of it? 93 SL

Re: sound system, keep or replace?

I have an alpine 12 disc changer and equalizer mounted behind the rear seats, and the head units mounted where the stock one was. But I still have the factory infinity speakers, no extra bass, and it sounds fine...plus you are gonna have to build a custom box to fit in the trunk.

As to which is better, the infinity or sony, I honestly don't know.

But, I would think that you could keep your cd player and factory head unit, I've helped friends put in sweet speakers and subs and they have kept the stock headunit, so I don't see why you couldn't.
