I own a de-badged 2000 grand am , the outside is all stock except some paint trim work and I vented the hood and a LED spoiler. The exhaust is loud (but not ricer) and car turns heads like crazy to point where some people drive with there eyes off the road. I feel like ive done something wrong by changing my car , at first I thought it would be great but I notice more and more that people like to stare and point and it makes me nervous. What did I get into? An old woman in a parking lot was screamin and harpen me about how loud it was in a parking lot the other day , I could tell she was terrified , but she made a good point about it bein loud. I really need something to dampen the noise , a silencer tip might work but I cant find any , does anyone have any other suggestions? My muffler is 2 3/4 inch outlet and allows clamp on tips.

One more thing , if the tip is restricting , it could get blown off or apart cus the pressure comming out is high and the turbo tip i tried for dampening sound just flew apart after two weeks of use. I think a good resonated tip may work , but all the exhaust shops aint got nothin like that round here for cheap enough.

Screw what other people think. What really matters is how you feel about your car. If some old hag cant handle a little noise, screw her. If she's got a frigging problem, let her bother some ricers. You put your own time and money into your vehicle: If someone else cant appreciate it, too bad... they can have their opinions, but they shouldnt matter to you.

Thanks , wish there was more people like you drivin around. I get eyed like crazy and never know if its good or bad. I got alot of pics in my gallery of the car and engine , what do you all think , its almost all stock cept the LED Underbody lights , spoiler and mesh.

Markgase200 thats a nice car. I got a 96 and a 02. Well the 02 is my dads but i drive it, and im in the process of fixing up/doing some mods on the 96 and doing some mods on the 02. I like what you've done with the interior. I wanna do either car in a similar way to that. Do you have any good suggestions? Like who makes good aftermarket parts, and is there alot of things for the interior or would it be better to customize it. Cuz once again im new at modifying newer cars. I've only restored old cars. Thanks.

I did up older cars for years , dont let some old timer tell you that the new cars have too many toys for them because the older cars have way too many toys for me to start with. On newer cars you always have to wait or make it yourself. My cars interior is all original , the peices I dyed all come off quite simply with screws bolts or snaps. The only real trouble i had was dying the door soft arm pads , to make sure it didnt look too stupid I had to bust out all the plastic welds and boy was that a biotch then I painted them with 20 coats of bonding vinyl dye. Heres the hard part , I do not have acess to a plastic welder so I had to bond the pads back in with an adhesive. I went and got myself some construction bonding glue and used heavy rims to press the pads on right so it could bond together. It was a hardass job but it turned out perfect the paint is perfectly smooth around the edges of the pad.
I did all the port work by hand with a dye grinder and assorted sand paper for finishing.
I got the air filter box from a ford F-150 5.4 V8 and a k&n air filter (almost twice the size of ga's Filter)
Head Man Headers ($450 cndn through a Pontiac dealership)
Fountain Tire custom made me a exhaust changed the whole thing , put 2 1/2 '' pipe replacing the 2 1/4'' and put a glass packed blue bottle mid and a 2 3/4 reversed Blue Bottle muffler with Stainless 3'' Gibson Tip.
