Alternator making noises
OK, I got my Civic back last week after 2 months of storage, and now my alternator is making a weird noise, alow me to demonstrate......
wwwooooowww--wwwooooooww---wow I hope this doesn't mean its dying because I just put this one in last summer. Any help would be appreciated. |

Re: Alternator making noises
Yeah, Civic alternators are supposedly infamous for bearing/brush noise if they sit to long. If it doesn't clear up quick try to replace it under your warrenty if it's still in effect.
If your warrenty has expired and it's a Nippon Denso (ND) it's pretty easy to take apart the back end of the alternator and clean the contacts (that may help). If you have the Mitsubishi it's a lot tougher. Check here GL |
