Heater/Climate Control No Light

96 Buick Regal Custom 4dr sedan

My heater/climate control unit has no background lights. The unit still works correctly just has no lights. I took it out and could not find replacement bulbs. Must I get a new heater/climate control unit or is there another method of fixing this problem? Thanks for your help,

Same thing happened to my Regal just off warranty. I complained to the regional Buick representative and Buick authorized a warranty replacement.

I argued that this unit should out last the vehicles usefull life. I'd be very surpised if they OK'd a replacement on a '96.

The unit new was very expensive. I'd try a junk yard query.

Yea I called Buick headquarters today. Guy told me since I didn't buy the vehicle new I shouldn't receive a new unit. So I told him it shouldn't matter if I bought it new or used the unit should last the life the span of the vehicle. Why put an expensive unit in there so that goes bad so I have to replace the thing? Told him a few a choice words about Buick and GMC then hung up. Should've bought an Asian car or Ford..more reliable, screw GM. Looks like I can live without the lights or stimulate the economy some more..

I Worked At A Demo Derby The Other Day And Bolth 93 Regals That Where In It Won... All Of Which Where Against Cadilacs And Huge Buicks From The 80's! And The 2 Regals Once 92 And One 93 2 Doors Won! And Still Ran After! Anyway I Dono How Much A Junk Yard Would Charge But After The Demo I Took Bolth Heater Controls Out Of Them Because My Buttons Wouldent Stay In Causing Me Not To Have Sertain Things Like Defrost And Air....+ My Lights Also Didnt Work... So Go To Teh Local Scrap Yard And Pic 1 Up... Eassy Also To Take Apart And Interchange Parts With One Of A Simmilar Regal...hope This Helps Mine Works Great Now...eassy To Change Also Only 4 Bolts And 2 Plugs!
