1996 jetta radio antitheft code
I took the stock radio out and had to put it back in. Now it needs a code to fire it back up! Problem is, the code card was lost by the previous owner and I don't know the code. Is there any help out there?

Re: 1996 jetta radio antitheft code
You can try the long shot of looking on the side of the spare tire well if the pre-delivery mechanic left the sticker there or else you'll need to pull the radio & take it to the dealer to get the code.

I have a 92 Jetta and my mechanic un plugged my radio. I have my code, but dont know how to get to the place to input the code. I have phoned the dealership and "VW Canada" they both told me i have to press a MODE button and SCAN button at the same time. the only problem is, i dont have a MODE button. If you could help me find my mode button, or get me to somewhere that i can input the code, that would be great.
Thanks D Quote:

Re: 1996 jetta radio antitheft code
I think in some radios it's the seek & scan button. If that doesn't work try a few two button combinations (not the number buttons), it wont hurt anything.

1996 Jetta radio anti theft code
In the operating manual for the sound system next to the place where the code has been cut out (as instructed in the manual) Is a note that the dealer will provide the code free of charge. I called VW America and they honored their word. The dealer had to pull the radio.
