94 SSEI, "performance shift" button does jack shit
I got a 94 bonneville and ive been reading up on this supercharged engine business that it comes with. I push the performance shift button by the Gear shift and it doesnt do anything but turn the light on. Could the supercharger be screwed up(which makes no sense from waht ive read) or can it be some weird electrical prblem, or what is going on? I want my supercharged engine to actually work!!! - thanks

You probably won't notice too much, my sisters Trans Am has the button and all it does is firms the shifts a bit and holds the gears a bit longer. On a less powerful car you won't notice a huge difference, but a difference should be felt as the transmission shifts gears, not in power. Hopes this helps.

At W.O.T is the only diff you'll see, it delays the shift some in perf. setting. mine works good but i don't like winding it that tight

Re: 94 SSEI, "performance shift" button does jack shit
The Peform shift isn't really changing anything. You can get Bonneville's with it or without, if you get it with it, you have perform and normal. Perform shift is the same as the normal shifting program on cars without it. Think of the Normal Shift mode as a "dumbed down" shifting set.

Your supercharger works regardless of wether you've selected 'performance' or 'economy'.
