I just bought a 2004 RAV4 base model. While the salesperson was showing me the demo model, he "tumbled" the seats forward to expand the rear cargo room. But he and two other associates could not reset and lock the seat into it's proper upright position. I was assured this was a newer model and they were just unfamiliar with the mechanism. But my new RAV4 rear seats have the same problem. It seems that it is very very difficult to get the rear seats to hit the locking mechanism in the floor. If you play with the alignment for 15 minutes you may be able to get it locked down.
Is this problem common? Does any one else have this problem? I don't see any adjustments but I'm hoping the dealership will be able to help the alignment of the seats. |

I am having a similar problem. The salesperson zipped through the tumbling but now after I am home with my new Rav4 I can 1. Tumble the right seat up and down, but it won't "lock" and 2. Cannot tumble the left seat at all. Back to the dealer. Love the car however.
Also, I washed the car using a wand at a commericial car wash. Used the wax setting at the end. My beautiful mirror finished is now smeared. Any suggestions on getting that great shine back? Thanks. |
