High Temp Paint Match

I figure this question is worth a shot - has anyone painted their valve cover (or anything else for that matter) to match a red, powder coated AEM intake? I am looking for a high paint that will match. If not, I guess I'll have to go with an aluminum-ish color.

Re: High Temp Paint Match

I don't think you'll be able to get the same finish seeing as how powder coating is a completely different process from painting.

Re: High Temp Paint Match

I don't imagine that the luster or properties of the finish will be the same, but a color match is possible.

Re: High Temp Paint Match

Thanks for your concern, though. I certainly don't want to end up with one of those "15 shades of red" engine bays.

Re: High Temp Paint Match

For those reading this post for reference, I found that plasti-kote makes a paint called "Anodizit", which matches the AEM colors (blue and red) almost perfectly.
