Alternator/Battery/Electrical Problems!???! 1992 T-Bird V6, NEED HELP-URGENT!

Ok, i'm 17 years old, and I have a 1992 T-bird V6, the engine is in awesome condition, ok body, and everything.
It has 172,000 miles, and runs awesome.
But, the other day, i noticed my Blinkers didnt work, and, my heat, didnt work.
They work when i turn the key a little bit, but once the engine starts, it stops working. Both of them, i thought maybe it was the alternator, because the car died friday night on my way home. And the battery was dead.
So I went out, and bought a new alternator (Duralast Gold series 80 Amp) for $60 ( i got a discount from a friend at Auto-Zone). Anyways, I took my battery in too, to have them charge it up for me. I took it all home, put them both back in, and it ran fine, but I still didnt get any blinkers, or heat when the engine was started. I thought it was all fine then anyways. I thought about the fuses, but that would make it not work at all, all together.

Well, I was on my way home last night, and the car died again. So, i dunno what it could be...


Think there is a short somewhere, making it power from the battery, and not the alternator? Or a Multi-function relay switch? Or is there something in the ignition?

I need some help, and I need my car running by tomorrow...lol...

replace your ignition switch the electrical part. mounted on steering calumn

alright, I talked to a few people today, they told me the same thing, or I may have gotten a bad alternator. So im gonna go have my new alternator tested, and if it turns out OK, ill replace the ignition switch.

Or your battery is toast and will not hold a charge for period of time, typical of a dead cell. Have the battery load tested once fully charged. If it cannot sustain over 9.6 volts, it's time for a new one.
