Angry windstar tranny and pcv

i own a 96 ford windstar gave me trouble shifting gears~took it to get tranny serviced and seemed to run fine after but the check engine light came on. drove it for months with light on and no problems~the problem is nowadays you can't get inspection with check engine light on they said there was a leak in the hose to the pcv and fixed it now no engine light and car yet again won't shift. is there a connection between the two and what can be done??

Hmmm.. I wouldn't think the two are related. In the old days, automatic transmissions used a vacuum shift modulator that WOULD act up if you had a vacuum leak somewhere in the engine compartment (cracked PVC line). Your van has an AX4S tranny that AFAIK, is fully electronic for 1996. I guess I would troubleshoot these issues seperately .
G/luck
