steering wheel lights

the lights went out on the steering wheel. anyone know how to fix this? also sometimes when you take off from a stop the van shutters. then picks up goes. does it once in awhile. someone told us that it is a montana trany thing and it costs at least 500 to fix. has anyone else heard of this? Thanks

I would like to know this too. I have a light out on the radio control on the steering wheel. As for the studdering when taking off, it could be a dirty injector or bad plug wire. I would check this before tearing into the tranny.

I hate to tell you but it is the tranny. Mine did the same thing. 2001 Montana with 54,000 miles. Took it to the dealer and was told it needed to be "flushed", I spent the $150.00 and within a month tranny went completely out. I was told it has something to do with the "sun gear". If your the original owner pontiac might fix it, if your not the orginal owner they will not fix it. I had to replace my tranny myself and would not do it again. I would drop the pan and change the filter and fluid.
